Deeper ~ Robin York

Release date:  January 28, 2014
Length: 400 Pages

Goodreads Synopsis:
In this New Adult debut by Robin York, a college student is attacked online and must restore her name—and stay clear of a guy who’s wrong for her, but feels so right.

When Caroline Piasecki’s ex-boyfriend posts their sex pictures on the Internet, it destroys her reputation as a nice college girl. Suddenly her once-promising future doesn’t look so bright. Caroline tries to make the pictures disappear; hoping time will bury her shame. Then a guy she barely knows rises to her defense and punches her ex to the ground.

West Leavitt is the last person Caroline needs in her life. Everyone knows he’s shady. Still, Caroline is drawn to his confidence and swagger—even after promising her dad she’ll keep her distance. On late, sleepless nights, Caroline starts wandering into the bakery where West works.

They hang out, they talk, they listen. Though Caroline and West tell each other they’re “just friends,” their feelings intensify until it becomes impossible to pretend. The more complicated her relationship with West gets, the harder Caroline has to struggle to discover what she wants for herself—and the easier it becomes to find the courage she needs to fight back against the people who would judge her.

When all seems lost, sometimes the only place to go is deeper.

Review:
5 Stars!!  I loved this book! I wish West and Caroline could be friends of mine. I can’t imagine this happening in real life, as it does happen to people all the time, and the horror to have private moments out in the public. The realization that your life can be changed in an instant and ramifications of those actions can’t be taken back. Caroline is a strong girl who learns about herself while overcoming a horrible situation that happened to her. She stands strong and decides that she isn’t going to be a victim. West is deep down a decent guy, trying to do the right things for his family and his future.

I think these two are pretty awesome characters and can’t wait to see what happens next. This is a must read book.

Surrender Series ~ Priscilla West

Surrender Series is a three book series.

Book #1 Forbidden Surrender

From Goodreads:
“What gives you a thrill Kristen?”

The minute I saw Vincent Sorenson, I knew he was trouble. Billionaire. Bad boy. And dangerously sexy. He was everything I craved, and nothing I needed.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t just avoid him. The higher ups at my company decided they needed his business, and I was on the team to bring him in. Vincent Sorenson didn’t seem as interested in business as he was in me, but I knew that was a door better left unopened. If I got involved with him, it would only unearth the pain I spent years trying to bury.

I thought I had it under control, but I seriously underestimated Vincent’s seductive charm and silver-tongue. I would soon find out how delicious it would feel to let myself fall into this forbidden surrender.

Book #2 Secret Surrender
Amazon Link: Link

From Goodreads:
I knew that giving in to Vincent Sorenson was a risk, but it was one I was willing to take. I had hidden my heart for so long and for the first time in a long time, Vincent was close to breaking down the walls.

When a trip to Vincent’s exclusive private island reveals the real Vincent underneath the layers of suave nonchalance, I thought we were close to the start of something special.

Just when things were looking up for us, I would discover the one secret that Vincent never intended for me to find.

Book #3 Beautiful Surrender
Amazon Link: Link

From Goodreads:
No one is who they seem to be.

Kristen let Vincent into her heart because he seemed so different from everyone in her conservative world of wealth management. She thought they shared something special, but when she realizes that Vincent has been playing her the entire time, her heart is crushed.

As Kristen’s relationship with Vincent reaches a crisis point, a man from Kristen’s past returns looking for a second chance. Is her ex-boyfriend really looking for redemption or is his goal something more sinister?

Kristen struggles to hold herself together, until she discovers a revelation that will change everything.

Review:

The Surrender Series is a must read. Vincent the billionaire thrill seeker meets financial wealth manager Kristen. Vincent isn’t the stereotypical billionaire alpha male that needs fixing he’s a deep down family guy. I read the 3 books back to back because I needed to know what happens next. I felt that the books flew by quick I was questioning how I could read a 200 plus page book so quickly, its because it was a great series that was sweet, sexy, and just good. I don’t want to give a way to much of the story and ruin it for you all. Vincent and Kristen’s relationship is a whirlwind not too much drama and a lot of sexy love.

I gave the three book series 5 stars.

The Virgin Redemption by J. Dallas

I was given an ARC copy of this book and have to say some people may not be into it as there is graphic detail about being abused. To know she was struggling for 10 years and have her face her fears was so surprise to me. To live with something for so long and not be able to move forward with your life. This book had a lot of detail which I loved and it showed both sides in good.

When I was done with this book it was good ending but also left me wanting more to see what happened with the characters. I have to say if your into a book with some violence but also love this was a great read. Some people just cant take things like that.

Synopsis-From Author
A New Adult Romance Novel by USA Today Bestselling Author Priscilla West
“There would be no happy ending for us. He was too damaged. I was too broken.”
Two years ago, Lorrie’s mother was murdered. But that wasn’t the end of it. Reeling from the tragedy, Lorrie’s father spiraled into alcohol, depression, and finally suicide.
The two most important people in Lorrie’s life are both gone but she’s still alive.
Trying to recover from the tragedy, Lorrie returns to campus, ready to pick up the pieces of her life. All Lorrie wants is to get back to “normal.”
Then she meets Hunter. The man, the legend, “The Hammer.”
Hunter is a cage fighter who takes on every fight like he’s got nothing to lose. His life is a tangled mess of girls, booze, and fist fights. And while it may seem like he’s got a devil-may-care attitude, he’s fighting a private cage-match with a monster he can’t defeat.
Lorrie knows that Hunter is exactly the type of guy she should stay away from, especially in her fragile state, but Hunter has other ideas.
As Hunter and Lorrie grow closer together, will they be able to overcome their pain and heal each other? Or will they both end up wrecked?
GENRE: Mature New Adult Romance (18+)
LENGTH: Novel, 350 pgs
RESCUED (WRECKED BOOK TWO: Coming Early 2014)

Review-
After reading the synopsis of the book I was interested; however, after some reviews I was kind of scared this book was going to be like another. I am glad that I decided to read the book for myself. I really enjoyed this book who doesn't love a yummy MMA fighter with an inner prince charming.
I liked that this book showed how two “broken” people can become unbroken together. Lorrie and Hunter have both been through so much in their pasts that impact their present and future.
Miss-communications with characters drive me crazy I realize that the characters in the story aren’t seeing things from our reader’s perspective. The two seem to work through most of their situations. Hunter seems to be a great people reader and understands that you can believe everything you hear. Lorrie is an awesome down to earth real cool girl. Having lost a parent myself, not under same circumstances, can relate to how devastating it is to go on with your life that has been forever changed. Lorrie is such a strong girl who knows what she can/can’t handle.

This is a must read, sweet story!   I can’t wait for book 2 to be released! I am a fan.

The Barter System by Shayne McClendon

Goodreads synopsis

Some people will go to great lengths to get their research.

Riya O’Connell requests applications from men around the country willing to participate in the research she needs for her dissertation on Male Sexuality. She narrows down her thousands of submissions to eight men. In return, Riya will give them…whatever they want.

As her project progresses, Riya realizes she’s chosen the eight men in the country who would love her well and that she could easily love in return. She leaves subject after subject with a small piece of her heart.

Ultimately, Riya discovers where she truly belongs…and gets an education she didn’t plan on.

NOTE: This story contains explicit sexual scenes and language and is intended for mature audiences only. Do not read this novel if intense sexual situations offend you.

My review-

I was recommended this book by a friend. I was quiet shocked at how drawn into the book I was from the beginning. Its about Riya and her subjects (you will understand why called that when read the book) as she is doing a research project for her book shes writing. It had such emotion in this book where you just couldn't put it down. I was surprised how each of her subjects were not the same. I was expecting to see a lot of repetition but surprised there wasn't. Sex in this OMG totally drawn to in such a different way. I got to a point where I just wanted to keep reading parts over cause of how HOT it was and just didn't want the book to end. If your want to see several different type of relationships formed this is a great book surprised in such a good way. The love that people can share that you wouldn't expect.

The Consequences Series by Aleatha Roming

I  had The Consequences Series on my Goodreads TBR list for a long time and now I wish I would have read it sooner...Bright side I finished just as Behind His Eyes is released.

Book One: Consequences
Book Two: Truth
Book Three: Convicted

Where to begin with this one...This book has impacted every emotion under the sun for me, most often it was anxiety for what was going to happen next in the book or to whom.

When I started this book series becoming a blogger to review and share my book obsession was just an idea. So with this review I was just reading and devouring not thinking to write my thoughts down, favorite thoughts or feelings different times.

This book was an emotional roller coaster for me and I loved every minute of it, some times I had to walk away for a bit because I wasn't ready to find out what was coming next. :)

I devoured book one when I ended book 2 I was happy as a lamb... Then there is book 3 I read a bit and had to stop, book 3 and I had a week long time out as I wasn't ready to go further in my quest. I consulted good reads reviews to get a grasp of what I was to expect, consulted a couple other bloggers to get encouragement that I NEEDED to continue. I'm not one to give up on a book but I didn't know if my heart could take it. With the encouragement to forge ahead, I am truly glad that I did.

I can agree with other reviews.. OMG!! A Mind F*$@! is right! Such emotions, the ups downs twists and turns kept me on the edge. I had to put the book down a few times to let my mind grasp. My heart broke, I cried, I laughed, I smiled. In the end I was happy!!

Aleatha has gained a long time reader in me her writing is awesome! I couldn't have predicted what was going to come my way. She writes with such brilliance.

This is definitely the top of my favorite all time list! Its a must read!

Happy Reading

Never thought I would utter these words...

...Books, Reading, Obsessed

Never thought that I would say those words... EVER...but I now have a love a reading...never too late right?! That's what I thought.  Starting in January 2013, kicking off with Fifty Shades of Grey, I have read 180 books... That's about 15 a month..all the while going to school. :)

I figure now that I am done with school I should put my reading to good use and help share my thoughts & feelings on the books that I have read or are reading now.

You can never have enough books right?! I currently have 253 books that I want to read, 454 free books to read, 31 on the kindle to read and waiting for 19 to be released. My goal is try to tackle my book lists.

Writing has never been my favorite subject but now reading is, so I will try to put the two together for some good use but bear with me as I navigate the world of book reviewing. My goal is to get my book BFF Amber to help with this endeavor, I'm sure there wont be too much twisting of her arm.  Well it didn't take any twisting at all.

To our new endeavor of blogging, reviewing and discussing everything books!
